Programs for Careers in Mathematics
The
Mathematics Department offers a broad
based program at the B.S. and M.S.
degree levels. The student can choose
from a large selection of courses from
many different areas of mathematics and
statistics such as
pre-calculus, calculus, differential
equations, abstract algebra, real and
complex analysis, topology, operations
research, numerical analysis,
approximation theory, and statistical
models.
The B.S. degree program in Mathematics
allows the student to prepare for
graduate school or industrial or
governmental employment. The M.S. degree
program provides intensive studies in
foundational areas such as analysis,
algebra, and probability, as well as
applied areas such as operations
research, statistics, numerical
analysis, and differential equations. It
also allows one to pursue
interdisciplinary Studies with courses
taken from disciplines such as Computer
Science, Physics, Engineering,
Economics, and Finance. For a detailed
plan of study, click our

Some of the faculty
members also advise graduate students in
the
CAM program, an
Interdisciplinary Ph.D. Program in
Computational Analysis and Modeling.
